1. What you can expect from therapy
A safe space to explore and overcome your difficulties using evidence-based approaches. The therapist will guide, support and challenge you to meet your agreed goals.
Your first appointment will be an assessment and a chance to develop a treatment plan in collaboration with you.
Sessions will last 50 minutes and will take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
We will discuss ending treatment a few sessions before the final one. At the end of therapy, we will work with you to produce a summary of important points and a plan for the future.
2. What we expect from you
Therapy is most effective when sessions are attended regularly and individuals regularly set time aside in-between sessions to complete tasks as agreed within sessions.
It is important for you to attend sessions even when you feel unhappy or anxious as this provides an opportunity for you to work through difficulties. If you feel unable to attend for these reasons we would like for you to speak to your therapist to discuss how we can help you.
We would like for you to keep an open and enquiring mind through therapy, be willing to discuss concerns with your therapist and be willing to try the tasks and homework agreed.
Remember to check your e-mail after the session, as directed by your therapist for any hand-outs/worksheets they have agreed to send you.
Please ensure you are in a safe and quiet space in order to carry out your telephone / video session.
3. Confidentiality
To help you in the best way we can, we keep information about your care on a secure and confidential computer system. We work alongside you and are committed to keeping you and others safe. The only time a therapist may break confidentiality is if there is a risk of harm to yourself or another person.
